The short version
FACT: Westworth Village is a small city in Tarrant County — 2,585 people at the 2020 census, on just over two square miles between Fort Worth, River Oaks, and Westover Hills. It was incorporated in 1941, born alongside the construction of Carswell Air Force Base (today’s Naval Air Station Fort Worth JRB, still our neighbor). The city owns Hawks Creek Golf Course outright — it’s a line in the city budget, bringing in roughly $2.3 million a year.
FACT: We’re a Type A general-law city: a mayor and five council members, with regular meetings the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM at the Municipal Complex, 311 Burton Hill Road. Agendas and minutes are posted at the city’s agenda center.
Why the remaining land is the whole ballgame
FACT: The village is nearly built out. The 27.73-acre Kite Farm on White Settlement Road — with over a thousand feet of Trinity River frontage — was marketed as one of the largest undeveloped tracts in west Fort Worth. In a town whose entire property tax base was reported at roughly $440 million, what happens to a parcel like that isn’t one item on an agenda. It’s the future of the budget.
FACT: That parcel is where the Trinity Terrace story begins.
Why this site exists
OPINION: In a town this size, open government isn’t a slogan — it’s the whole ballgame. There’s no local paper covering our council. If residents don’t read the agendas and show up, nobody does.
