August 2026: the PILOT’s paper trail. While the city was withholding the PILOT records, we characterized what likely existed as, in effect, just a draft and an email. The produced records showed something more specific: a genuinely negotiated redline, an “Agreement for Payments for Benefits Received” carrying 116 tracked changes between working versions, circulated between the city and the developer’s advisor in early 2023. Still unsigned and never finalized, which was the heart of our point, but a real negotiation rather than a throwaway. We updated the records page and Trinity Terrace page to describe the documents exactly as they are.
August 2026: “the City” as a party. Early versions of our June 18 coverage repeated the minutes’ description of the election contest as “the pending cause brought against him and the City,” and we reasoned from it that a city defending itself is a legitimate question. The petition’s caption in Cause No. 348-377803-26 names one defendant: Robert Fitzgerald. The City of Westworth Village is not a party. We corrected the June 18 page, Misuse of Public Funds, and everywhere else the city’s characterization had leaked into our own words.
July 2026: which meeting removed the P&Z members. Our first draft placed the removal of three sitting commissioners on July 14 based on residents’ accounts; we then corrected it to June 18 based on the minutes; the full record showed both were real, two separate rounds, June 18 appointments and July 14 mid-term removals. The Planning & Zoning page now carries the complete two-round account, and the minutes for both meetings are linked from it.
For contrast, and stated as fact: we are aware of no public retraction, correction, or apology from City Hall regarding its accusation against Council Member Griffith, whose case the district attorney reportedly declined. The record of that episode is on Pastry Gate.
